Khloe Kardashian Red Hair Transformation

Khloe Kardashian has opted to select one of the surefire ways to get attention and stand out in a crowd, she's changed her signature dark chocolate brown hair color to a light fiery red.

Celebrities understand that to regain media interest it helps if they take drastic measures with their hair length, texture, color or style.  Some celebrities like Mia Wasikowska and Natalie Portman will get instant attention if they adopt a drastically short haircut.  Others like Kim Kardashian will adopt cornrow braids, go blonde or play with clip-in bangs or an array of wigs.

It's Hollywood and the business of being a star is selling illusions and constantly changing looks.  That's why the celebs who gain or lose a ton of weight will be viewed as more interesting that someone who maintains the same weight for years.  Ditto with getting engaged or having a baby.

With the introduction of the Reality TV Star, traditional stars have found it getting crowded in the media world.  Yes some complain bitterly about the paparazzi but the truth hurts.  Stars who want to grab the best parts in films and on TV have to be popular with the public.  For every Jessica Simpson there are literally hordes of young women who want to knock her out of the spotlight and grab her fame and fortune.

Khloe Kardashian not only has to fight for the spotlight with her family of gorgeous sisters like Kim, Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie, she has to fight for attention with other reality stars like girls from Jersey Shore, the various Bravo Housewives and the up and coming stars of the alternative networks.

Khloe successfully drew all the attention away from her gorgeous sisters at last night's People's Choice Awards.  She told PEOPLE “So far I love it! It’s fun! Different.” The new redhead said “And I have never been red before so why not?”

Khloe has a lot at stake right now.  Even though she grabbed media headlines with her elaborate marriage to sports star Lamar Odom she hasn't yet joined the celebrity baby or adoption parade and until now has kept her raven tresses pretty static.  She is known for wearing her stunning tresses long, lush and full of soft waves.

Since it was recently announced that Khloe and Lamar Odom were going to have their own reality TV show based on their newlywed status and life in Hollywood together, Khloe needs to keep her current and future fans engaged in her life.

Khloe's hairstylist, Clyde Haygood, was also interviewed by PEOPLE>  He told them "This is the time for Khloe.  She is starting her own show with her husband Lamar, and this is separate from Keeping Up (With The Kardashians), we we thought, perfect!".  Although Haygood commented on Khloe's new hair color, he did not actually create the new hue.  For that task he recruited colorist Julie Canales.

Now that Khloe decided to try something fresh and chose the perfect time to unveil it to the media, what does her husband think of the change?  Khloe reported that Lamar told her to go red and "he loves it".  She definitely looks red-hot.

Of course red hair has its own challenges including fading very quickly and taking on brassy tones if not cared for correctly, but since Khloe has a hairstylists and colorist on her speed dial, her hot new haircolor should be no problem.
