Haley Reinhart has been singing since she was 8 years old and now she's in the competition of a lifetime. The 20 year old Wheeling, Illinois blonde was on of the final 10 picked last Thursday on American Idol (AI).
Although 13 AI contestants will compete due to the addition of the judge's wild cards, Haley was a standout and part of the original 10.
Haley has a lot of advantages including her gorgeous long blonde wavy/curly tresses. If you're an American Idol fan you understand that ultimately the winner has that total package of great talent, stage presence and image. When a finalist is lacking in one of the key ingredients the AI coaches step in and help them fine tune their game face.
It will be interesting to see how Haley will transform if she continues to do well in the competition. Already the beauty has tons of fans.
Haley has been doing lots of interviews and she says what makes her unique is that she's "been surrounded by so many different types of music and just musical people in my family in general." In her blog she credits her parents and their band for helping her to discover that she wanted to be a musician. Her family is very important to her.
Although she has a soft voice, she can definitely turn up the heat on her very textured and diverse vocal range. I love Haley and she's definitely generated a few goosebumps on my arms during her performances. I think she has a great shot, but then so do many of the other contestants. The talent in Season 10 is staggering.
"Haley is so down to earth," school choir director and band director Brian Logan told the Daily Herald . "There is not a diva bone in her body. She has true grace."
Haley had previously tried out for Season 9 of Idol. When asked what she learned after not making the cut the first time, she told the Daily Herald, "I studied more and learned to grow as an artist." "You guys told me to come back," she had told the judges.
How To Copy Haley's Hair
Although Haley appears to have naturally wavy tresses, it's possible she has some natural curl interwoven with the waves.
Because her hair is so long, it's possible the weight of her hair soften her texture into more of an S wave shape. If you want to copy her current look follow the steps below:
1. Cleanse hair in lukewarm water with preferred product and method such as Conditioner Only (CO), Water Only (WO), Diluted Shampoo (DS) or a low poo (shampoo) formula (NoPoo).
3. Use fingers or a hair friendly wide-tooth comb and detangle in shower.
5. Towel blot to remove excess water.
7. Separate hair into 2-4 inch sections and dry on low speed, medium heat with a long finger diffuser. Crush hair to encourage waves.
When hair is completely dry apply either a dab of serum to the palms of your hands and massage well. Brush over the top of the waves to prevent frizz from forming. If you prefer you can using a texturizing cream through the ends to create a messier look.
