Valerie Bertinelli's Long Lush Hair How To

Hot In Cleveland star Valerie Bertinelli has a lush head of rich chocolate brunette strands which she wears with loose waves and curls throughout the edges.

Sometimes Valerie wears her hair so dark it takes on a raven black hue.  At other times her color base is a lighter milk chocolate highlighted with light hazelnut and caramel strands.

Valerie is known to have a lot of hair but it's always possible she supplements her luxurious strands with either clip-in or fusion style extensions.  Of course the more hair Valerie has added to her own, the more fullness she can rock.

Step By Step Instructions

Follow the steps below to copy Valerie's lush full hairstyle:

1.  Cleanse hair in lukewarm water with volume enhancing products.

2.  Apply a light rinse-out conditioner from the ears down to the ends while still in the shower.  Use fingers and a hair friendly detangling comb to gently detangle strands from ends to roots.

3.  After hair is detangled finish with a cool to cold water rinse.

4.  Towel blot to remove excess moisture.

5.  Apply styling cocktail designed to encourage maximum volume and fullness.  Use volume spray along the roots and combine with volume enhancing mousse from the top of the ears down to the ends. If you wish mix in a defristant or curl enhancing cream.

6.  Separate damp hair into 6 equal sized horizontal systems.  Use a medium to large sized 100% boar bristle round brush with a blow dryer.  Dry one section of hair at a time.  Once each section is 100% dry roll the section of hair into a barrel curl loop around your fingers and pin to your scalp to allow hair to cool and set.

7.  Once hair is completely cool and set unwrap one section at a time.  Use a 2" wide barrel curling iron and curl each individual section.  After curling each section roll into a barrel curl and pin to the scalp.

8.  Once hair is completely cool and set use a boar bristle paddle style brush to lightly backcomb the hair to add fullness throughout the entire head.  When desired fullness is achieved use fingers to smooth hair down.  Spritz with a medium to firm hold hairspray to help hold the set.

9.  Use large barrel curling iron to create loose ringlet style curls throughout the edges of the hairstyle.  Once they are released from the iron, allow them to cool while working on the rest of the hair.  When all the perimeter curls have been created, cooled and set, use fingers to gently pull on them to create softness and movement.

10.  When the entire hairstyle has been finished you may wish to apply a drop or two of shine serum to the palms of your hands.  Massage well and then lightly swipe over the top of the finished style.

This gorgeous hairstyle allows you to create any type of fringe and part you desired.

With any hair care products it is important to remember that a little goes a long way. Overuse of any products can make hair look lank, oily or greasy.
