Instant Pimple Reducers

Instant Pimple Reducers

I've tried a variety of home remedies for pimples.  While there are tons of remedies available, only a few have instantly worked for me.

Years ago Dr. Howard Rosenthal Ph.D. of St. Louis told me about the wondrous properties of honey and how it worked so well on any type of blemish.  Indeed, he was correct.  Not only does honey make my skin feel silky smooth, it does help with any type of blemish, pimple or even rashes.

The only drawback to honey, which I love to use, is that it tends to be messy and very sticky.  I've gotten it stuck in my hair so be sure to keep your hair out of the way if you use honey on your skin.

Be sure to always have towels handy to clean up any drips.  Even better, use honey in the shower so that you can instantly rinse if off when you're finished.

Reducing Pimple Home Remedy

To instantly reduce a pimple consider trying the following recipe which has always worked for me.  If you have an urgent need to eliminate a big pimple before an important event, you may want to read down to the section about what dermatologists and facialists can do to help.

1. Mix 1/2 to 1 teaspoon organic (when possible) honey with 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon powder to make a paste.

2.  Apply mixture to a pre-washed pimple before going to bed.

3.  Cover the pimple lightly with a Band-aide or similar to keep the honey for causing a mess while you're sleeping.

4.  In the morning carefully remove the Band-aide from the pimple.  Wash off the honey mix with lukewarm water.

The first application should instantly reduce any pimples, but to guarantee they completely disappear repeat this process every night until all pimples have been completely reduced.

When Honey Is Available

Even though the honey and cinnamon paste will definitely help, if you don't have honey available then use the toothpaste cure.  Simply clean your skin and then dab a blob of toothpaste on the pimple.

The toothpaste will dry out the pimple and help it to heal faster.  You can either sleep with the toothpaste on the pimple all night or you can just apply it for one hour and then wash it off.

Warning: Remember to never use any home remedy or other self treatment without being advised to do so by a physician.

Dermatology Options

If you develop a major zit right before a major event such as your wedding, the Prom, an engagement party or something similar, your dermatologist can help.  How?  With a shot naturally.

Some dermatologists and plastic surgeons will be willing to inject a small amount of the steroid Kenalog directly into the pimple with a small needle.  Within 24-48 hours the pimple will be completely gone.  If you have a big event coming up in the future and you don't have a regular skin doctor, you may want to schedule a preventive appointment.

Try A Facialist Instead

If you don't want to visit a dermatologist, many facialists can also help reduce or eliminate a pimple within 24 to 48 hours.  My own go-to facialist uses the Karin Herzog skin care line which is amazing.  Not only does the Karin Herzog mask help to instantly minimize if not eliminate small breakouts, it can help prevent them in the first place.

You might be able to minimize your own facial at home with a few tips from your skin care expert.

However, if you develop a large pimple before a major event where your skin has to look great then you may want to call your own facialist for an emergency visit for a special treatment.

My own facialist has this amazing zapper she uses to reduce redness and help smooth out a pimple.  Most good skin care experts have a lot of options they can use to help clear up a pimple or at least reduce it's appearance quickly.

When All Else Fails

Many celebrities have confessed to having a wide range of skin care problems.  Cameron Diaz is famous for sharing about her own zits and acne issues.  You would never know it because her make-up artists keep her skin looking picture perfect.  A great make-up artist can fix a myriad of issues, including minimizing or hiding pimples.
