Jennifer Aniston Hair Battle

Jennifer Aniston Hair Battle

Jennifer Aniston has lost the hair battle for best hairstyle to Emma Watson for the second year in a row.  Ironically Jen who is still dominating the media with rumors of her elopement with actor Justin Theroux has never wanted to be known for her hair.

During the days of Friends after The Rachel had just blown up salon phones around the world Jen's publicist literally would hang up on editors from publications which wanted to discuss her famous hair chop.

I know that info for a fact since one of the editors I was working with at the time was hung up on more than once when she started to discuss the famous haircut.

Of course the world has come to find out that Jennifer actually hated The Rachel even though it really did make her famous.  She didn't like the cut or the style but she did like the fame.  Except she wanted the fame for her acting skills, not her hairstyle.

Unfortunately the famous member of the Aniston-Pitt-Jolie love triangle has never really been able to escape the media's obsession about her hair color, length, style, texture or product use.

Emma Watson Hairstyle - Sideview November 2011

Maybe she's finally getting a break.  It seems that the gorgeous Emma Watson has been stealing all the popularity away from Jen.  Yes, as Heidi Klum says on Project Runway, one day you're in and the next you're out.  It seems that Jen's mane popularity is cooling off faster than a pizza in a snow storm.

Luckily for Jen she has that romance with Justin Theroux and the promise of a future pregnancy.  Maybe she will even go the Pitt-Jolie route and have twins and then adopt children from around the world.

But her hair?  It may be out for good.  And her world famous hairstyle Chris McMillian?  He will definitely need to try and find another high profile client if he wants to hold on to his title.

Emma Watson And Justin Bieber Hair

The Wall Street Journal reported that the fastest rising searches for celebrity haircuts on Google are for Emma Watson and Justin Bieber's swish.  Not Jennifer Aniston as it has been in the past.  Hairstylists are being inundated with requests for Emma's hairstyle.

The love for Emma's short cropped hairstyle is a new shift for the majority of women who up until recently was more obsessed with long lush hairstyles.

Hair History

As history shows, hair lengths, colors, styles and textures cycle through periods of up and down cycles where they're popular and then they're not.  The super short hairstyle trend has been gaining steam for the past few years with the celebrity pixie cut movement gaining a solid foothold.

According to the Journal, these styles are evidence of a big shift in hair trends, since for women, "short hair hasn't been trendy since the '90s," and because men "may justifiably feel sheepish about asking for the Justin Bieber hair cut.

Daily Hair Tip
For a low maintenance style, try to work with your natural hair type rather than against it. For example, if your hair is naturally wavy, select a hairstyle that works easily with the waves.
