Introduction - Fennel Fat Burner

Scientists are constantly studying the effects of a wide range of vitamins, herbs, natural foods and related supplements to determine if they successfully will help address health problems and related medical costs of excessive weight. Although controversial, many weight loss experts believe fennel fat burner indications are noteworthy.

Excessive weight is a major concern in current times.  A study by the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey found over 65% of Americans are currently overweight or obese.

Those costs are currently estimated to be nearly $150 billion annually in the United States.

Experts are continually researching the weight loss properties of fennel and other natural supplements.  Many experts believe fennel has been found to promote weight loss in several ways.

Fennel Fat Burner - Metabolism Stimulator + Appetite Suppressant

As an antioxidant, fennel seeds may be able to help physically remove fat cells and mucus from the the body.   Fennel is also thought to be a natural metabolism stimulator as well as an appetite suppressant.

Studies at the Smell & Taste Treatment & Research Foundation in Chicago indicate the herb’s licorice flavor may help to quiet candy or related cravings.

This means people who drink fennel tea may naturally burn more calories while resting and will eat less food than those who don't utilize the fennel fat burner options.

In addition, fennel has also been found to be an anti-inflammatory while reducing bloating, indigestion and gas.  Fennel also assists the body in flushing excess water and toxins which can slow weight loss.  It can also be utilized as an effective diuretic assisting with the reduction of water retention.

What Is Fennel?

Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) is a plant species in the genus Foeniculum (treated as the sole species in the genus by most botanists).   It's a member of the family Apiaceae (formerly Umbelliferae).

It's a highly aromatic and flavorful herb with culinary and medicinal uses and, along with the similar-tasting anise, is one of the primary ingredients of absinthe.  Florence fennel or finocchio is a selection with a swollen, bulb-like stem base used as a vegetable.

Anethole - Active Compound For Conversion of Fatty Acids Into ATP

According to German scientists, anethole, which is fennel’s active compound, supercharges the body’s ability to convert fatty acids into ATP which is the main source of fuel for the body.  Anethole (or its polymers)  is thought to act as phytoestrogen in the body.

Fennel Fat Burner - Not An Overnight Magic Weight Loss Cure

Some people assume that natural herbal supplements are miracle cures, but that's not the case. Fennel works slowly over time, and likely won't make much of a difference on its own.  Simply adding fennel tea to your diet won't necessarily help you lose weight. Fennel tea must be combined with a healthy weight loss diet and consistent exercise plan to produce results.

Fennel Fat Burner - Potential Side Effects

Fennel is a natural supplement and while generally safe for most people, it can have potentially harmful side effects.   Anyone with a fennel allergy may break out in hives or experience itching and swelling of the skin.  People with allergies to carrots or mugwort may be sensitive to fennel as well.

Because of its chemical makeup, fennel isn't recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women or people with epilepsy.  Fennel may be toxic to some people when taken in large doses.  Therefore, be sure not to exceed any doses recommended by your doctor or nutritionist.

Fennel is found growing, in North America, in the same habitat and alongside useful medicinal relatives of the parsley family.  However, India is the current leader in production of anise, badian (star anise), fennel and coriander.

Many species in the family Apiaceae (formerly Umbelliferae) are superficially similar to fennel, and some, such as poison hemlock (see below), are toxic.  It is therefore unwise, and potentially extremely dangerous, to use any part of any of these plants as a herb or vegetable unless it can be positively identified as being edible.

Beware - Do Not Confuse Fennel With Dangerous Hemlock Plants

The most dangerous plant which might be confused with fennel is probably hemlock (poison hemlock). Hemlock tends to grow near water or in consistently moist soil, is tall (0.75 – 2 m), has purple blotches on the main stem, and is heavily branched, with small umbels of white flowers. A useful test to distinguish between it and fennel is to crush some leaves and smell them.

Fennel smells like anise or liquorice, whereas the smell of poison hemlock is often described as mouse-like or musty.  Warning, coniine, a toxin contained in poison hemlock, can be absorbed through the skin.  Do not do this "smell test" with bare hands (and avoid touching your eyes or mouth) unless you can wash them immediately afterwards.

A humectant hair product attracts moisture to the hair while an anti-humectant repels moisture. Use a humectant to combat static electricity and an anti-humectant to deal with humidity.
