IntroductionThe entire group of Friends showed up in their award show finest to watch both their series and Jennifer Aniston snag an Emmy statuette. Jennifer won for outstanding lead actress for her role as Rachel Green while the Friends series won as Best Comedy Series. Matt LeBlanc and Matthew Perry were nominated as Best Actors in a Comedy Series but lost to Ray Romano. (Photo Copyright 2002 NBC, Inc. All rights reserved). Lisa Kudrow had on a gorgeous strapless amethyst colored gown with her trademark blonde hair pulled back off her face. Courtney Cox had her dark hair pulled up into a soft updo.
One of the personal favorites, Laura Linney, adopted a Jenniferisque do and looked beautiful. The long wavy style was a perfect compliment for her face and gave her a soft and elegant look. And speaking of vampish, the normally elegant and classy Ms. Stockard Channing's tresses looked a tad too dark and a little dreary for her complexion.
Appearing a bit too ghoulish in her coal black, shoulder length, choppy bob, Channing's hair drained her face of color in typical vampire fashion. When asked about her look, Channing proudly announced that she had done her own hair for the event.
One thing you have to say about Doris, she takes great care of herself and always looks very well coifed and made up. The Emmys were no exception. Doris always selects hairstyles that falter her face and age.
Chilklis who told the press to call him "Chick" because there were already "too many Michaels" commented that the heat of the evening was definitely an experience. I'm sure if you asked him now, Chiklis would agree that a few hours of heat were worth the statue he took home.
Other great locks included the blonde do worn by Frasier's Jean Smart, Wendy Malik's curvy brunette bob and West Wing's Janel Moloney who complimented her midnight blue gown with a sleek updo.
Even the guys had great looking dos. West Wing's controversial Rob Lowe appeared in a short but fashionable chop. Jean Smart's new co-star on The In-Laws, Dennis Farina, gave new meaning to "silver fox. Even host Conan O'Brien's wavy red locks were neatly combed into place. All in all, it was a great hair watcher's award show. |
