My best friend Michael recently told me I should always stay focused on hair, business and astrology - which directly relates to hair astrological rulerships.

If anyone starts talking to me about anything else, he claims my eyes instantly glaze over and I zone right out.

Well I beg to differ. I do love talking about football (after all I live in Dallas, Texas), food, sports cars and anything related to fashion, shoes or hair accessories.

Talk to me about grub worms in the garden, how to program a TIVO or other totally mind numbing topics and I agree, I tend to zone out.

As I would expect anyone to do if they're reading a topic they find a total snooze.

I also agreed I love talking about hair (duh) and astrology.  What could be better than topics on hair and astrology?

If they're discussed together. Which is what I'm doing in this blog.

When discussing hair in astrological terms or when providing interpretations it's important to have a complete understanding of the rulerships and correlations assigned to various hair terms.

My favorite book is The Rulership Book written by Rex Bills.

Why would anyone care about astrological rulerships of hair?

If you're not interested in astrology, you probably won't care at all. However, if you are into the stars, understanding rulerships provide additional levels of insight into a natal, progressed or transit chart.

Astrological rulerships also play a major role in electional and horary charts.

Rulership Of Hair

Which brings me back to hair and the astrological rulers that govern this topic so near and dear to my heart.

The primary astrological rulership of hair is generally agreed to be Capricorn and the planet Saturn which rules the sign of Capricorn. Secondary rulership of hair includes the sign Virgo and the planets Mercury and Venus.

Yes, there is a rulership difference between hair and hairdresser.

Hairdressers are ruled astrologically by the planet Venus which is the general rule of beauty as well as the signs Taurus and Libra.

Hairdressers Ruled By Aries And Mars

Some esteemed astrologers believe hairdressers are also ruled by Aries (Mars) which may explain why hairdressers are often leaders and pioneers in creating new hair trends.

It could also explain why they are so easy to anger when you insist that they make your hair look like Jennifer Aniston when your strands more closely resemble Marge Simpsons'.

The connection between Aries and Mars to hair is probably due to the fact the sign and planet rule barbers and barbershops.

Aries and Mars are tied to blood and cutting or using cutting tools. Since barbers are more likely to use razors it makes sense there would be a tie-in to the blood ruling Mars planet.

The scalp is definitely ruled by the sign Aries and indirectly the planet Mars, which of course rules Aries.
