Rumors have been swirling fast and furiously since Sunday, February 8, 2009 when Chris Brown and his girlfriend Rihanna were MIA at the Grammy Awards due to a reported fight.
According to various reports, many from reputable sources, a fight occurred between Chris Brown and an unidentified female, later determined to be Rihanna.
The physical altercation occurred in the wee hours of the Sunday, February 08, after the famous celebrity couple left the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Gala held by Clive Davis.
Sources reported Chris Brown and Rihanna were all smiles at the Clive Davis Gala. Later rumors swirled about Leona Lewis with hints she somehow had flirted with Chris Brown, causing the fight with Rihanna.
These rumors were proven false along with many others popping up from a wide range of sources throughout the week since Chris Brown turned himself into the Los Angeles Police.
After more than a week of silence, Chris issued a statement about the incident involving the fight this past weekend!
Chris said in his statement:
"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person.
"Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."
Although no word has come from Rihanna except from her father; it is expected she will release a statement at some point. Rumors have indicated Rihanna was bruised and the violence which occurred at the hands of Chris Brown were not the first time violence had occurred.
Only time will allow all the details to unfold. In the meantime, Chris Brown has lost some major endorsement deals and the Hip Hop community is divided in its support and condemnation of the 19-year-old performance artist.
