Agents Congregate to Boost Consumer Confidence in Cancun, Mexico
Welcomes Funjet Vacations 500 Club Travel Agents
The Mexico Tourist Board and Funjet Vacations welcomed the prestigious Funjet Vacations 500 Club May 28-31, 2009 at the El Dorado Seaside Suites in Cancun, Mexico.
The appreciation trip was strategically held in Mexico to give agents valuable, first-hand experience in the area. "Funjet Vacations is dedicated to its vast travel agent network.
This trip provided significant opportunities for our top agents to experience the destination and share their business strategies with Funjet and Mexican Government leaders," said Mike Going, President of Funjet Vacations who was in attendance. "The trip is one piece of the strategy we've put together, including incentives, promotions and enhanced marketing, over the last few weeks to further reinforce our commitment to travel agents and Mexico."
The Funjet Vacations 500 Club appreciation trip was attended by 68 agents representing 47 agencies from Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Lubbock and Midland, Texas.
Following travel journalist Peter Greenberg's lead, Funjet Vacations 500 Club headed to Mexico in reaction to the recent fears surrounding the destination.
Terry Linex, Funjet Vacations Vice President of Business Development, emphasized the importance of the trip, not only for travel agents who attended, but for their clients who will benefit from the agents' enthusiasm and refreshed Mexico knowledge.
"We all came away with such positive energy," said Linex. "Our 500 Club is inspirationally unique. They not only support Funjet Vacations but support one another as well. This, combined with everyone's love for the country of Mexico, surely set the stage for success."
A successful recovery is inevitable for Mexico because of the way hotels have responded to the demand for affordable and unique vacation experiences.
Hotels and Funjet are offering unprecedented deals right now; but, as the demand for the destination continues to grow these offers may no longer be available. Now really is the best time to book a Mexico vacation and the 500 Club agents were immersed in reasons why during the trip.
Over the three-night appreciation trip, the Funjet 500 agents were shown the best of the destination's activities, culture and cuisine. They were also given the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the region with presentations by the Cancun Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Riviera Maya Convention and Visitors Bureau, Lomas Travel and Karisma Hotels.
"The Funjet Vacations 500 Club appreciation trip was priceless," states Gene Marck, President of Vista World Travel in San Antonio, Texas. "The hospitality of the Mexican people was enormous. Seeing that everything was open and well has enabled me to promote Mexico confidently to our clientele."
