Macy's Launches Hunger Awareness Campaign

NEW YORK (Aug. 10) This September, Macy's and Feeding America will host a campaign to raise funds and awareness for the nation's hunger problem.

The campaign, called "Come Together," encourages Americans to host dinners at which the guests bring donations instead of traditional gifts.

Macy's said it will match those donations until it reaches the goal of providing 10 million meals to hungry Americans. The campaign also will feature a TV commercial starring such celebrities as Jessica Simpson and Donald Trump.

"In today's environment, there are two things we know," said Peter Sachse, Macy's chief marketing officer. "The first is that many American families are struggling to get by, making simple luxuries like regular dinners out more fiscally challenging."

Sachse continued "The second is that hunger is one of the most significantly impacted issues during an economic downturn."

He explained "Our new initiative with Feeding America is intended to give people the tools and motivation to participate in the cooking at home trend, as well as to give them a service call-to-action to come together with their friends and the rest of America to lend support to a cause that hits every community across this country.

Together, we hope to raise 10 million meals for the hungry this fall, as well as to inspire many great moments, meals and memories in homes across the U.S."

Daily Hair Tip
For a low maintenance style, try to work with your natural hair type rather than against it. For example, if your hair is naturally wavy, select a hairstyle that works easily with the waves.
