The Vampire Diaries Combines Great Hairstyles With Vampires, Werewolves And Love Triangles

The wait is over! The Vampire Diaries is back on The CW with all new episodes on Thursday (January 27, 2011) 8/7c. Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) has a plan, but Stefan's got his own ideas.   One thing is for sure, this show has some of the best hairstyles on The CW.   Even if you're not into the storyline but you love great hair, tune in to see the gorgeous tresses on the key characters.

Meanwhile, as the storyline resumes, the dangerous, but incredibly hot Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder)  tries to hide his true feelings for Elena  from his brother Stefan (Paul Wesley).

A vampire with feelings?  In the last few episodes before the show's Holiday break Damon let Elena know he was in love with her.  Although the chemistry between Elena and Damon is palpable, Elena's on-again, off-again love relationship with Stefan Salvatore prevents her from acting on her attraction to Damon.

If it's sounds complicated, it is.  Even more complicated is the relationship between evil vampire Katherine Pierce and the two brothers.  Ultimately viewers have to pay attention to figure out how the two different threesomes are operating at any given time.  Yes, it's definitely enough to keep you on your toes if you care about the storyline.

Nina Dobrev is fabulous in the dual role as Elena Gilbert and the ruthless Katherine Pierce.  If you're a fan of the show you can actually see the subtle differences when Nina is Elena and when she switches to evil Katherine.

It's interesting to watch her interaction with Stefan and Damon when she transitions back and forth between the two very different characters.  I love how the show utilizes different hair style and make-up nuances to signal a change in character.  Whereas Nina's Elena is soft and innocent, Katherine is hard and oozes evil.

If you haven't been watching the show up to this point it's not too late to get hooked.  The shows returns tomorrow night on The CW so tune in to see the great hair or to hook into the storyline about vampires, love triangles, werewolves and all kinds of other interesting plots.
