If you thought when Emma Watson went off to study at Brown she would disappear from sight, you were probably under one of her magic spells. Afterall, she is famous for using her Harry Potter wand to weave magic.
The stunning twenty-year-old Harry Potter beauty, Hermione Granger, has become famous for her chic short cropped brunette tresses, her beautiful features and her impeccable style.
The actress recently announced that she is taking a leave of absence from the books in order to follow Isabella Rossellini's daughter, Elettra Widermann as the spokesperson for Lancôme's most recent fragrance in the Trésor range, Trésor in Love.
Watson posted a message to fans on her website last Monday saying she's taking some time out of Brown University to finish off the "Potter" films. The final chapter, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" will be released worldwide this July.
"I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything, but recently I've had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible," Watson wrote.
"I've decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on 'Harry Potter' (the last one comes out this summer) and to focus on my other professional and acting projects. I will still be working towards my degree ... it's just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought," the British actress added.
"Thanks to her charm, romanticism and her incredible modernity, Emma Watson has become the icon of her generation" says Youcef Nabi, President of Lancôme International. He continues, "We are delighted by this new collaboration with Emma who brings a fresh spirit to Lancôme".
The word is that famous fashion photographer Mario Testino will shoot the print campaign which is set to appear sometime later in 2011. Watson is no stranger to Testino's lens having previously been shot by him as the face of Burberry's autumn/winter 2009 and spring/summer 2010 campaigns.
Watson also launched her eco-friendly, high-fashion collaboration 'Pure Threads' with Italian designer Alberta Ferretti last week. The first collection comprises two dresses, a shirt, a maxiskirt and denim shorts, all adorned with lace embroidery, and goes on sale March 21.
Part of the proceeds from the Pure Threads collaboration will be donated to the Fair Trade fashion label People Tree, for whom she previously designed three collections.
