Does Hair Guru Ted Gibson Love Pink Hair?

Ted Gibson is a hair god both inside and outside of the hair industry.

He's been interviewed by countless hair and beauty magazines, not to mention being in a dizzying array of appearances on television.

In an interview with BehindTheChair.com, in March of 2007, when asked about his favorite color he said "I love pink!  Who doesn't?"

Does his love of pink extend to the hot new hair color trend sweeping the Red Carpets and fashion runways?

New Hair Inspiration

Probably.

Why?  Even though Ted doesn't specialize in hair color (his partner Jason Backe is the color guru) he strives to keep hair "fresh each season."

The famous hairstylist searches for new hair inspiration during his travels, by reading books and looking deep within himself to decide new directions to take his work.

His favorite locations for gaining new inspiration includes The South of France, the Caribbean and New York City.

Original Dreams Of Dallas Cowboys

The Texas born hairstylist originally dreamed of growing up to become a Dallas Cowboys football player.

Life doesn't always take us where we think we want to go and luckily for his many hair clients, Ted's early life as part of a military family opened his eyes to beauty in many cultures.

After achieving great success in barber school, he knew that he wanted hair to be his life.

Angelina Jolie

Ted began his famous hair career as an educator for Aveda and ultimately became the Creative Director for the company's New York salons.

Ultimately his most memorable job as a hairstylist occurred when he met Angelina Jolie in 2003 when he did her hair for the covers of Cosmopolitan and Marie Claire on the same day in London.

Since the momentous meeting Ted has work with Angie on a wide range of covers and special events.

He's also traveled the globe with her.

Gibson Girls

Since working with Angelina his list of famous clients have swelled and includes Anne Hathaway, Elizabeth Banks, Ashley Greene, Renée Zellweger, Claire Danes, Keira Knightley and Hilary Duff, to name just a few of his "Gibson Girls."

He is known for his amazing creativity and his signature big sexy hair which he describes "classic with a twist."

Building His Hair Empire One Day At A Time

In the past Ted had very successful and famous salons (https://tedgibson.com/) - in Manhattan, Washington D.C., and Fort Lauderdale, Florida which he closed over the past few years.

The New York salon was closed at the end of 2016 after 13 years which sent shock waves through the hair work.

Ted has had his own Ted eponymous hair care line in the past.

In 2018 he announced he would be releasing three new products available for advance order through his website.

Advice For Hairstylists Who Want To Follow His Climb Up The Ladder

He cautions hairstylists who want to follow his path that it takes time to become sought after as a free lancer.

It also takes time to learn to take the basic craft of hairdressing from ordinary to avant-garde.

Ted understands the importance of always having a positive attitude.  He believes his success comes from hard work along with his willingness to make his dreams come true.

Important Life Skills Leading To Success

He believes the most important traits which helped make him so successful in the hair world was patience determination, drive and the ability to fuse fashion, hair and beauty between the past, present and the future.

Ted confessed to BehindTheChair that "life in general can be challenging so I make sure that I take care of myself with a morning practice of meditation, reading and writing. I also make sure I am connected to my spirit and that I am of service."

Love For Creating An Image

Ted Gibson Ted Gibson

Ted loves working with hair because it provides him with the opportunity to transform a woman in the the very best she can be.

He appreciates the power he has to create an image for someone.

Additionally, he loves the opportunity to travel the world working with world class photographers, make-up artists, stylists, models and celebrities.

Collaboration is key to Ted.  He understands the importance of hair fitting with the clothes and the images people want to see.

Ted has his own hair gurus and told BehindTheChair that "Eugene Souleiman is the best hairdresser in the world."

Remaining Centered

Ted remains centered by practicing meditation, not believing his own press and always remembering his roots.

He also knows that you can be on top one minute and at the bottom the next - which also keeps him very centered.

Finally he "treats everyone the same no matter who they are."  For more information on Ted visit  www.tedgibsonsalon.com.
