If you want a high level gloss apply a drop of shine serum to the palms of your hands.  Massage into fingers.

Lightly brush the shine serum palms over the top of the pony for extra oomph.

#4. Sexy Faux Bob

Although the character of Cassandra King has yet to rock a faux box on NBC's The Player, actress Charity Wakefield rocked a stunning edition of the sassy hairstyle on The Player's Press Tour.

a.  To create the illusion of a chic chop without scissors, create a deep side part.  Direct all of the hair over to once side of the head.

b.  Pull all the length of your hair up in the back into a messy low bun.

c.  Pin securely with bobby pins. Allow shorter layers to flow freely in front adjacent to the hairline.

d.  Crank up the sexy factor factor by wrapping the side sections around the barrel of a curling iron to create soft waves.

For a softer look, gently tug on newly created waves while hair is still warm.

e.  Finish curling the entire head.

f.  Unpin when all of the curls are cool and set.  Use fingers to lightly rake through the curls to create waves.

g.  Create a side part and direct hair into a soft side-swept fringe.  Tuck one side of the hair behind one ear.

If you decide to create a sleek straight style, you can extend the life of the blow-out by wearing hair pulled back and up into a mid-head twist, chignon or braid.

Or you can copy Charity's half-up look.  It's very easy to do and works great on pre-straightened hair.

Follow the steps below to re-create:

a. Prep hair with the dry shampoo of your choice to add instant volume.

b.  After brushing hair completely to remove dry shampoo, brush all hair up and off the face with fingers or a boar bristle styling brush.

c.  Pull the side sections into a half pony positioned at the back of the crown.

d.  Brush all remaining hair down behind the ears so that the tresses cascade down behind the half pony.

e.  Lightly swipe over the top of your chignons with shine spray prepped hands.

For a softer look, lift each side section of the hair and direct towards the nape of the neck at the back of the head.   Gently twist each section as you direct it towards the back.  Secure the two twisted sections of said hair together with a Blax, bungee or similar.

All the rest of the hair to cascade out from under the twisted section or pull them into a ponytail with the base hidden under the twisted side sections.
