Not only did Melissa get swept from her embarrassing nationally viewed break-up to triumph as a last minute replacement on ABC's Dancing With The Stars (DWTS), she came in third place and vowed DWTS judges, fellow contestants and fans.
She also won a whole new set of fans who loved her sweetness and beauty.
During all the turmoil in Melissa's life, she turned for comfort to a long time friend and Dallas native Tye Strickland to help her get through a difficult time. In fact, Tye was in Melissa life to help her recover from the break-up with Jason which Melissa discussed with Ellen when she appeared on her show right after Jason announced his relationship with Molly.

After winning so much fan support and attention on Dancing With The Stars ABC offered Melissa a recurring guest appearance position on Good Morning America. Besides enjoying career success, the former Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader is now in love and happily engaged.
Although the engagement happened over the weekend, in light of all the recent media buzz about the death of Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, Melissa waiting until today (Tuesday, 6/30/09) to announce the happy news.
No wedding date has been set but insiders suggest that Melissa will marry Tye when the timing is right.
