Katherine Heigl Says Buh-buh To Grey's Anatomy On Her Terms

Katherine Heigl has officially announced her departure from ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and dishes on why in the next issue of Entertainment Weekly.

The newly brunette star of "27 Dresses" and new mom explained that it was her decision to leave the show that made her a star.

Katherine told the entertainment magazine that it was she who approached Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes about being released from her 18-month contract. Shonda agreed to let Katherine, who has been rumored to be a major diva, out of her commitment to the show and the network.

Katherine said in the interview "I am done. We just finalized our agreement. Everyone had been working really hard to find an amicable and gracious way of letting go and moving on. It's sad but it's what I wanted."

Katherine who has several movie roles lined up for the future did not use her movie making as the excuse for wanting out of the show.

Instead she explained that the recent adoption of Naleigh, her Korean daughter, left her less then willing to "work full-time". Her desire was no longer tied to working but wanting to be with her baby.

She says: "I know I'm disappointing the fans. I just had to make a choice. I hope I made the right one."

Unfortunately leaving at this point prevents the storyline involving Izzie Stevens unfinished. Fans are expressing their disappointment that Katherine couldn't at least finish up the final five episodes of the show so that the plotlines could be wrapped up.

Some wonder if Katherine is making a bad decision. Maybe her film career will continue to skyrocket, but maybe not. One of the biggest mistakes actors and actresses sometimes make is leaving a popular series.

Of course it all worked out fine for George Clooney but not so good for others. At this point only time will tell.

Meanwhile, lets hope Katherine goes back to her sunny blonde. She looked so much better with her blonde tresses, at least in my opinion.

Daily Hair Tip
For a low maintenance style, try to work with your natural hair type rather than against it. For example, if your hair is naturally wavy, select a hairstyle that works easily with the waves.
